About Us

Why do we have a Parent Teacher Organization?
 

Our PTO is organized for the purpose of supporting the education of children at Walter C. Black Elementary School by fostering relationships among the school, parents, and teachers. We sponsor a number of events and fundraisers, both during school hours and in the evening. We fundraise to provide enhancements to our students' education.

 

What type of organization is the PTO?
 

Our PTO is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. This means that any monetary donations to the PTO are tax deductible! Please also check with your employer where applicable as many employers offer donation matching programs, or may want to help sponsor a PTO event. If your employer may want to donate a specific item (for example, a basket to be used in a silent auction), please reach out to us at info@wcbpto.com and we will be happy to work with you.
